Use street parking; there's none at the park.
Closter
(Labor Day)

Although there is a
small parking lot next to the band
shell, the access road from the west is usually guarded by a police
officer who is not easily persuadable. It's better to park at either
the Tenakill Middle School or (more likely) Public Library and walk.
It's also easier to get out from the school and library after the
concert and fireworks.
From Westwood, Broadway becomes Old Hook Road and, after it crosses the
train tracks and then Schraalenburgh Road, High Street. After you cross
Knickerbocker Road, watch for the school on your left and the library
across the street.
From Teaneck, Teaneck Road becomes Washington Avenue in Bergenfield and
Dumont and then Schraalenburgh Road. Turn right at the right onto High
Street. After you cross Knickerbocker Road, watch for the school on
your left and the library across the street.
If you feel particularly glib, go one block north on Schraalenburgh to
Cedar Lane. If the cop lets you cross Knickerbocker, continue past the
fireworks staging area (Aha! Now you know why the cop is there.) to the
small parking lot. If not, tuck your tail between your legs, turn right
on Harrington Avenue, wait for all the pedestrians and band members to
cross into Memorial Park, and then maybe circle around to the
library/school.
From U.S. 9W, take the Route 502 exit (traffic light), following the
signs for 502, which jogs to the right one block after Piermont Road.
